Summer Vacation Day 4

Today Uncle Kyle and Grandpa Steve had the day off so Macy got to play with them all day! She had so much fun she forgot to take her naps. She got sleepy a couple of times, but always woke up right away . . . maybe 20 minutes later. She didn't want to miss any of the fun!

This morning Macy held this toy while swinging in her swing. She grabbed right onto it when Uncle Eric gave it to her. She soon dropped it to munch on her hand.

Summer Vacation Day 3

We didn't do anything very exciting today so we have a few pictures and more videos!

We took this video yesterday. Macy was having fun as Grandpa Steve held her up in the air!

I put Macy down for a nap. I came in to check on her and this is what I found! She was just munching on her hand and looking at her mobile.

Here is Macy with her burp cloth bonnet. We were just playing and having a good time together. The flash flickered and scared her.

Today was bath day! Macy was fussy so I put her in her tub to entertain her while I got the water ready for her bath. It worked!

Macy in her bath. This picture really shows where she is starting to lose her hair! I lost my hair as a baby and it grew back in blond. We'll see if the same thing will happen to Macy!

Summer Vacation Day 2

Macy slept so well last night. I think she is pretty much adjusted to the time change. She was exhausted last night at about her regular time and woke up at her regular time. She is just so smart.



We put Macy in the bouncy chair this morning and she immediately grabbed both toys and attempted to put them in her mouth. That is the first time I have seen her grab something intentionally. By the time I grabbed the camera she had let go of the mirror and was examining the other toy.

Uncle Eric is learning how to take care of Macy. This is him putting on her outfit for the day. I just have to add that I walked in his room this morning and he has a picture of her taped up on his desk. He just loves her so much!

Macy was a little fussy this morning so we found some Baby Einstein clips on You Tube. I just love this picture. Look how attentive she is!

Macy was munching on her hand. She does this all the time, but I wanted to get a video so that Andy can watch it and feel close to her!

Grandma Molly thought that Macy's headbands were too tight for her so Uncle Eric and Uncle Ryan offered to stretch them out for her. Silly boys!

Grandma Molly bought Macy a swing because she thought she must be missing her swing from home. This one converts to a bouncy chair. I'm sure she will love it.

Andy has been teaching Macy to make a sound with her lips. I have continued the teaching while we are here and today she did a great job of imitating it. I didn't quite get it on camera as is always the story, but it still is fun to watch her.

Summer Vacation Day 1

After a month of melting in the heat, we decided it would be a good idea for Macy and me to fly to Washington and spend some time with our families. It was a hard decision because we knew we would miss each other so much!!! But we agreed that we would video chat and take pictures every day. I also thought that I would blog everyday. This is more for Andy than for anyone else, so sorry if we bore everyone with hundreds of pictures of Macy doing seemingly the exact same thing, but we want to make Andy feel like he is with us.

So today we left our apartment at about 4 AM and took a taxi to the airport. The lady who checked us in was nice enough to let Andy go to the gate with us so he was able to see us off. After a tearful goodbye we boarded the plane. Macy was pretty good while we were in the air, but each time we landed (in Chicago and Salt Lake) she was fussy. It was difficult to carry her and all our carry on luggage, but everyone was very helpful which was greatly appreciated. We did have a leaky bottle, a diaper mishap, and very little sleep to go on so a few more tears were shed by Mommy before the day was done.



We got to go see Grandpa Steve and Uncle Kyle at work and when they got home we went out to eat at a Chinese restaurant to celebrate our arrival back in Washington.



Macy was a little fussy this evening, but that wore off as the night went on. She was babbling so I tried to get a video, but she stopped and instead studied the camera which seems to be her favorite thing to do these days.





Macy enjoys riding in the car while Uncle Ryan and Uncle Eric sing songs to her even though these pictures don't really seem to show any enjoyment!



Macy got a new mobile from GeGe Denise. She studied it very carefully before falling asleep.



Macy was a tired girl by the end of the day and fell asleep shortly after this picture!

Fun Family Weekend

This past weekend we spent the best three days ever together. We stayed in a hotel right by Central Park on Saturday and Sunday evening. We ate well, laughed a lot, played games, watched TV and spent some wonderful quality time together as a family. We tried out some new restaurants including Juniors and Cosmo Diner. Both were fabulous and I found out that I love pickled beets, who knew? We also found a Mexican restaurant that was the most similar to West Coast Mexican food that we have found so far in NYC. It was super yummy! Finally we ate at Dallas Bar-B-Que, one of our favorite restaurants we've been to since living in the city.

Macy is loving her life though you can't really tell from her expression. She just babbled the whole weekend. She was so happy to be out of the heat.

Sun Smiley Day

Macy is a very smiley girl. We are always trying to get pictures of her smiling, but the flash flickers before the camera takes the picture so we often just get a picture of Macy looking scared with great big eyes. I finally got some pictures where the lighting was good enough that I didn't need to use the flash and the pictures weren't too blurry. As you will notice she smiles with her mouth open and her tongue is often out. Silly girl! So here she is . . . our smiley little Macy Belle!

Happy Birthday Andy/ Daddy

I want to wish a Happy Birthday to my favorite husband. Today he turns the big 3-0! Macy and I are so lucky to have such a wonderful husband/ father. Here are the top thirty things we love about him.

In no particular order:



1. He makes us laugh.
2. He loves to play with Macy.
3. He does lots of strength training exercises with Macy. Currently he is working on core strength (getting her to sit up by herself) and arm strength (getting her to hold a bottle by herself.

4. We think alike. The other day I was out and about and was thinking about getting a slurpee at 7-11. I decided not to and then guess who came home with an extra large one! Andy of course! AND we have never even had one while living in New York. How did he know I wanted one? . . . he's a genius of course!
5. He is a righteous Priesthood holder. Both Macy and I need a lot of blessings and he is always willing to give them whenever we need.
6. He always has a positive attitude.

7. He takes care of Macy while I nap or sleep in.
8. For many months he was the only one who did laundry and dishes.
9. He is always willing to pick me up treats on his way home from work and I'm not even pregnant anymore.

10. He was the most amazing labor coach ever. I never could have done it without him. If he hadn't helped me I might still be 13 months pregnant with Macy right now.
11. He loves his family.
12. He is so faithful in his calling. Even when no one signs up to clean the church he gets up early and cleans it all by himself.

13. He is really good with money and has taught me to save more and spend less.
14. He is a good cook.
15. He helps me with Primary, even operating the Cricut one time (afterwards he said he hated it, but during it he didn't say a word.

16. He is lots of fun to watch the Office with. At this point we have to have watched it like four times!
17. He has a ton of knowledge about sports and he explains things to me by putting it in dance terms.
18. He is a very hard worker.

19. In the hospital he changed most of Macy's diapers for me because I was sore and couldn't move around well. It wasn't until the second day that I knew for sure Macy was a girl!
20. He makes up songs and sings them to Macy and me all day long.
21. He is really smart both in school and in everyday street smarts.

22. He makes us feel special.
23. He writes me beautiful cards for different occasions: birthday, anniversaries, etc.
24. He is my best friend.



25. He is very in tune with the Spirit.
26. He is fabulous at sports.
27. He is really knowledgeable about health, nutrition, and exercise and offers advice to friends and family.

28. He was so excited when he found out we were going to have a little girl. His expression was priceless. He also was so excited when he first felt her kick.
29. He is the reason we moved to New York and because of that we were blessed to have our little Macy Belle.
30. He is a very attractive man. The first time that I really thought he was really cute was when we were playing a game of Sorry with the missionaries at Family Home Evening in the Havana Ward. Obviously I thought he was cute before then, but this really sealed the deal. I knew he had to be my husband.



We love him dearly and are glad we can be together forever!
(I wish he was even older because I could go on and on about my favorite things about my most favorite husband in the world!)
