Finals

So I do not remember Rachel freaking out the week before finals. How was that possible, I have 3 finals next week and I just might.

Two of them will be brutal and the third one will be worse it is 20 pages long and 300 questions. Those are not exaggerations and all of the questions are either fill in the blank, short answer or essay.

Becca and Ashton were in town for the weekend. On Friday Andy and the Rodgers family visited Broadway, Central Park, 5th Avenue, and Bryant Park. For dinner we all had fabulous burgers at the restaurant "Stand" in Greenwich Village.

On Saturday we all took a quick stroll by the Museum of Natural History then headed to Central Park. While there we visited the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir. Later that evening we took a ferry to Staten Island where we got a wonderful view of the Statue of Liberty on the way there and a magnificent view of the NYC skyline on the way back.

This weekend was so much fun! We hope that Ashton, Becca, and Ella will be back soon for an extended stay!!!! :)

Tree Lighting at Rockefeller Plaza . . . Almost!

Andy and I decided to go to Rockefeller Plaza for

the lighting of the World's Most Famous Christmas Tree. We were half way there when the police told us that due to safety reasons they were having to turn people away. We reluctantly started to head home when we overheard a professional looking man (maybe a part of the ceremony?) say that they would be showing the lighting on the screens at Times Square. When we got there, however, the policeman said that there was no place at Times Square to see the ceremony . . . only at Rockefeller Plaza and that people had staked out all the good spots starting at 11AM!!!! So we settled for the next best thing . . . the Christmas Tree at Bryant Park, certainly not Rockefeller Plaza, but no less exciting. While there we got to see the new ice skating rink they put in for the Christmas season complete with some creepy Snowman guy skating around in it and posing for pictures with me and Andy . . . or me at least. After we got some great pictures of the tree, we headed back home. We got home just in time to see the main event on television . . . the Jonas Brothers performing!!!! After that they lighted the tree and we got a great picture with it via the T.V. Although we didn't accomplish exactly what we set out to do, we had a great adventure and created many fabulous memories!

Charles

As much as I would love to see LeBron come to NY. I agree with Charles 100%, and I am glad he spoke what many people were thinking.

One of the biggest differences between Jordan, Magic and Bird compared to LeBron and Kobe is how they views their team and teammates. Make your team great by being a leader and elevating everyone's level of play. They never attacked their teammates or discussed playing for a different team.

Hey today's "Superstars" study the players that you are trying become off the court, not just on it.

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Andy and I had planned to get up at 5:00 AM to get the best seats possible for the parade, but 5:00 turned to 6:30 and 6:30 turned to 9:00 before we finally got up (the parade starts at 9!) So we got ready and walked down 42nd Street to Broadway where we had fabulous seats for half an hour. We were in a walking path, however, so eventually we were scooted across Broadway where we were able to get a great front and rear view of the parade! Once we got across the street we turned around and went back the other way for another great view of the parade complete with front row seats of a police take-down. In case anyone was wondering how Andy is adjusting to big city life, he is doing just fine. . . you might even call him a real New Yorker! There were over 4 million people at the parade and many got pretty pushy. They couldn't push Andy around, however. He gave them a little attitude and they backed off! We had a lot of fun, but next year we will probably forgo the 32 degree weather and watch the parade from the comfort of our own toasty living room!

Elder Holland

Today we had a special conference in the Stake (not a Stake Conference) with Elder Holland. The church arranged for us to all meet together in the Hammerstein theater by Penn Station.

It was so great to be in the same room as an Apostle (I know that is nothing new for Utah). He was very funny at the beginning, he talked about dreams coming true. And how he is now on a Broadway stage. He talk about Christine and a chandelier, I do not know what he was talking about, but we laughed anyway.

He also concluded giving everyone in the room an apostolic blessing. He started by stating his authority as an apostle, very cool.

It was an awesome conference. We also had all the primary kids in the youth sing two musicals numbers. Which caused Elder Holland to quote Ed Sullivan.

It is so wonderful to have had this experience.

Weekly Thoughts

I am going to start writing my thoughts each week. They will often cover sports, politics, and entertainment. I believe this is the purpose of a blog, and who am I to change tradition.

Survivor. This has been an interesting season. Now Randy was the worst person I have seen on the show. However I really really dislike Sugar his mortal enemy.

I would like to see Matty, Kenny and Bob as the final three.

Our Blog

Andy and I decided to start a blog. We'll start with a little bit about us: We got married June 7th, 2008 and shortly after moved to New York City. Andy is attending Long Island University in Brooklyn and is studying Health Science with an emphasis in Coaching and Conditioning. Stefany is working at a fertility clinic in the city and is enjoying her first job in the "real world". Our hobbies include riding the subway to Jack's 99c store where we get our food, sheets, blankets, schools supplies, socks, etc., etc., etc. We also enjoy hosting all our friends and family that come to visit us in the city. Finally, we like nothing more than to spend our Tuesday nights in front of the T.V. watching the Biggest Loser Families! The End.
